If there’s one thing you can count on in life, it’s that summer in St. Louis is going to be hot and humid. While you can always stay inside and camp in front of the AC, your kids are probably getting a little stir-crazy around this time. That’s why you need a splash pad for those July days when you can barely function. As a St. Louis family photographer and a mom myself, I spend a lot of time finding out about all the best local spots. Here are the best splash pads in St. Louis to go this summer to stay cool!
5595 Grand Drive, St. Louis, Missouri 63112
Forest Park Forever rests in the heart of Forest Park between the Jewel Box and the World’s Fair Pavilion. The play area features natural elements, including stone and tree limbs. While it’s a great space to spend a few hours, it’s also the ideal place to cool off after a zoo trip.
4344 Shaw Blvd, St. Louis, Missouri 63110
The Doris I. Schnuck Children’s Garden is in the middle of the Botanical Gardens. The children’s area provides your child with many things to do in and out of the water. The section is nature-themed and incorporates botany into the play space.
1031 Kisker Road, St. Charles, Missouri 63304
Veterans Tribute Park is located just across the road from the Kisker Branch Public Library. The playspace features spigots flush with the ground and small streams where your child can sit in the water and play. Water toys are always welcome! The splash pad is located between three playgrounds, giving you the ability to keep track of siblings of all ages without having to rush around.
500 Chestnut St, St. Louis, Missouri 63101
If you’re looking for an urban playscape, Kiener Plaza is just the spot! Located in front of the courthouse, this area provides a concrete space where your kids can run around as spigots shoot water from the ground. It has benches surrounding it, and thoughtfully planted trees shade it.
8392 Orf Road, Lake Saint Louis, Missouri 63367
Hawk Ridge Park, also known as Zachary’s Playground, is a national-recognized all-inclusive playground with soft turf and a splash pad perfect for children of all ages.
2924 Brazeau Avenue, Brentwood, Missouri 63144
Brentwood Park is the city’s newest park, and it’s already getting lots of love. This park is built into the natural landscape, giving you slides that fly down hills and a splash pad fed by Deer Creek. The splash pad features concrete fountains alongside a stream, where your child can splash around while you relax in the nearby chairs. The above picnic area also provides plenty of shady spaces.
Cool off this summer by heading to a splash pad! These St. Louis splash pads offer a space to hang out once the temperatures heat up.
