As a mom, I know the importance of being mindful in posing you in a way that is flattering and highlights your new baby bump. Let's get started on planning a session that captures your bump in a beautiful and artistic way.
Contact me to talk about each option below to determine what would be the best fit for you.

I offer a variety of options for your maternity session and all of them lead to beautiful portraits that will allow you to look back and remember how amazing your baby bump was! Whichever you choose, I will offer all of the same support along the way - session planning, wardrobe styling, hair and makeup, and artwork design.

Which maternity session should you choose?

If you're looking for a clean, classic look that keeps your images focused on you and your baby bump, the studio is the perfect place for your maternity session. I have a wardrobe closet full of dresses for expecting moms that pair perfectly with the studio setting. The studio also has everything you need to stay comfortable throughout your session. My natural light studio is located in Lake St Louis, MO. Studio sessions are done mid-day between 10am-2pm to ensure we have the best light for your session.

Studio sessions

What is a bare belly session? Sometimes referred to as a boudoir maternity session, this session can be tailored to your comfort level. Some clients choose a dress that will open in the front to highlight their baby bump. Others choose more intimate wardrobe pieces. For these sessions consider bringing nude undergarments and a feminine, neutral colored robe. These will photograph beautifully without distracting from your baby bump. I can also provide silk wraps, chunky sweaters, and bodysuits. These sessions are done in the studio and are combined with your in-studio maternity session.

Sunset maternity sessions are a beautiful way to photograph your baby bump. To capture that stunning golden hour light we will schedule your session one hour before sunset. I will help you decide on the perfect location that fits your vision for your session. Some of my favorite locations include Forest Park, Bush Wildlife, and Towne Park. However I love when clients invite me to a location that is unique and special to them.

I love documenting those beautiful growing bellies and there are so many different ways that you can accentuate your curves, all within your comfort levels.

I love any fabric that is chic and feminine. This can be lace, soft flowing cotton, silky soft and tulles. The beauty of these materials is that they are comfortable as well as photograph beautifully. Softer color palettes photograph beautifully, and I typically recommend wearing soft neutrals for your maternity session...

On the blog...

All sessions will be focused on mom and her baby belly, however I do encourage clients to include their partner and older children in part of the session. For all in-studio sessions, I offer a variety of bump friendly wardrobe options for clients to borrow from for their session.

I recommend that you choose a session date between 32-36 weeks pregnant for a nice round baby bump. It is best to try to avoid scheduling your session past 36 weeks just in case baby decides to arrive early. If you are carrying multiples, consider scheduling your session even earlier.

Timeline

"Kelly and her assistant were so kind and easy to work with! I am not always comfortable doing photo shoots, but they made it a breeze and so much fun! I absolutely loved how the photos turned out. I told Kelly what I had in mind and she exceeded my expectations with the final results! I will cherish these photos forever."

FRAMED STATEMENT ART

I offer custom framing services and my goal is to give my clients the most archival framing possible. The absolute best way to protect your prints for the longest amount of time is by getting them properly framed behind glass, conservation acrylic or museum acrylic. This gives the highest level of protection against UV light and dust.

heirloom albums

Showcase your favorite images in a custom designed Heirloom Album that can be past down through the generations. Many families enjoy creating an album that highlights each milestone, giving a library of memories to their children. Others choose to create a First Year Album that is built overtime and completed with their baby's 12 month session.
