When you’re a parent, you quickly find out kids don’t come with a pause button. They have lots of energy, and if they don’t have a space to let it out, they will swing from the curtains or jump from the furniture. If you don’t feel like spending the summer calling up drywall repair companies, you need a go-to spot where you can let your child let loose. As a St. Louis family photographer, I spend a lot of time scoping out the best local parks. Here are my favorite playgrounds in St. Louis.
5595 Grand Drive, St Louis, Missouri 63112
Located in Forest Park, Nature Playscape is a splash pad playground that incorporates organic St. Louis materials such as tree stumps, rocks, and streams for your child to explore. Brand new restrooms are close by, so you don’t have to hike too far for potty breaks.
5601-5653 Grand Dr, St. Louis, Missouri 63112
Variety Wonderland Playground is another Forest Park location near the St. Louis Missouri History Museum. The half-acre playground welcomes kids of all abilities to spend some time playing on the fully accessible structure.
Eichelberger St & Donovan Ave, St. Louis, Missouri 63109
Francis Park is an urban park with a meditation pond and modern art structures throughout. The playground gives your child climbing walls, winding slides, and swings.
9551 Litzsinger Rd., St. Louis, Missouri 63124
Tilles Park is the go-to playground for all seasons in St. Louis. This beautiful space has a splash pad that runs during the summer months and a Winter Wonderland during the holidays. The playground is easy for kids of all ages to navigate.
849 E Pacific Ave, Webster Groves, Missouri 63119
Deer Creek Park is a gorgeous park with a playground shaped like a rocket ship. This is the ideal space to go for kids who love creating their own adventures!
1000 O’Day Park Drive, O’Fallon, Missouri 63368
O’Day Park is a park that constantly has something wonderful happening. The St. Louis property features an outdoor amphitheater and a lodge alongside a fantastic playground. The playground is expansive, with climbable structures and a splash pad.
15 Manion Park Road Dr, Florissant, Missouri 63031
Manion Park is a North County park with a bright flower theme. The playground features two separate play structures for kids of different ages. The play area is completely enclosed with an iron gate so you can easily keep your child in sight.
8392 Orf Road, Lake Saint Louis, Missouri 63367
Hawk Ridge Park in Lake Saint Louis has a fully accessible play structure called Zachary’s Playground. This large playground features sails and a splash pad so you can stay cool once the weather heats up.
With these playgrounds in St. Louis, you’ll have the perfect place to go whenever your child needs to let out some energy. Get out there soon and go have a truly memorable day!
