About Barefoot Midwife
Barefoot Midwife is a practice started by Andi Webb, a certified professional midwife. Andi has years of both personal and professional experience. She’s a mother and has seen the power of trusting your body’s intuition. She began to study midwifery in 2013 to help parents feel empowered throughout their deliveries.
When she’s not assisting families, she’s working as a Reiki practitioner. Barefoot Midwife partners with several local birth providers to ensure you’re never without expert help. They offer payment plans to keep things more affordable.
Services
Barefoot Midwife provides comprehensive prenatal care as well as birth support. During your prenatal appointments, your midwife will check on your progress. You’ll discuss nutrition as well as your emotional and mental health. You’ll visit your midwife with the same frequency as with an OB. The practice provides basic lab work, glucose tolerance tests, and GBS screening. Once you hit 36 weeks, you’ll have all your visits within your house. Around this time, your home birth supplies will be delivered, and your midwife will ensure your space is ready for birth.
Once you go into labor, your midwife will come over and help with your home birth. The team supplies a birth pool you can use free of charge. Your birth will be attended by two midwives who have extensive training for any emergency situations. Your baby’s heart rate will be monitored over Doppler to ensure they remain safe. Following delivery, you’ll rest in bed while your midwives clean the space, do laundry, and take out the trash.
Specialty
Your care continues long after your baby is born! You’ll have several appointments following delivery. Within the first six weeks, all these visits will take place within the comfort of your home. Your midwife will assess vital signs and weight gain, go over expected newborn behavior, and review sleeping and eating patterns. If you choose, you can have a newborn metabolic screening performed. You’ll also complete birth certificate paperwork.
