Let’s be honest. The postpartum stage can be a bit of a mess. You are sleep-deprived, you’re in pain, and you are trying desperately to read your baby’s cues. You could use a little supernatural help throughout this time. This is where placenta encapsulation comes in! With this process, you are going to take all those rich nutrients of your placenta and put them into easy-to-swallow capsules. This can boost your milk supply, speed your recovery, and even give you more energy. As a St. Louis photographer, I get to chat with lots of parents who have seen the power of this process firsthand. If you are looking for a place to do it, let me tell you all about Midwest Placenta Encapsulation!
Midwest Placenta Encapsulation is a one-woman operation that was opened up by Casey M., a mom located in Wentzville. When Casey was pregnant with her first child, she began to research placenta encapsulation for herself. The only issue? There really weren’t many people in rural Missouri who would provide this service. So, she decided to learn how she could do it herself. Those DIY skills quickly led to a career. Today, Casey is fully certified through Brilliant Birth Academy, plus she has completed her OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen training. She is going to make sure your placenta is treated with the respect and care it deserves!
With Midwest Placenta Encapsulation, you will have three different options for your placenta. The most common is the capsules. Casey uses the Traditional Chinese Medicine method. With this, your placenta will be rinsed before it is steamed, cooled, cut into strips, and then dehydrated. In the end, you will have 100-150 capsules. You can choose to add herbs, including ginger, turmeric, myrrh, and more. If you would prefer, you can select the RAW method. And for those who can’t decide, you can select half-and-half. In addition to the capsules, Casey offers tinctures and salves.
To start the process, you will fill out a form on the website. Once you give birth, you will let your provider or midwife know that you would like your placenta set aside for encapsulation. For hospital births, you will pack a cooler to keep your placenta cold. She will meet you in either Warrenton or Chesterfield, pick up the placenta, and work her magic. She can either ship the finished product to you or arrange a drop-off.
In addition to Midwest Placenta Encapsulation services, Casey can provide you with keepsakes. She offers meaningful products such as umbilical cord keepsakes and tree of life prints.
With Casey at Midwest Placenta Encapsulation, you can experience the healing powers of your placenta! And if you need more ways to prepare for your little one, I would love to connect.
