Why do we include hair and makeup in our portrait sessions?

As moms, we often take the backseat especially when it comes to self-care. As a mom of six, I have been in your shoes preparing for our portrait sessions. I was always a mess trying to get everyone ready and never had enough time to get myself ready.

With baby #3’s newborn session, I showed up to the studio in my pj’s, slippers, no makeup, and my hair was a mess! I handed my baby to the photographer. Then I frantically ran to the bathroom to try to finish getting ready in a matter of minutes. With baby #4’s newborn session, I was up until 3 am the morning of our session. I was desperately trying to find ANY-thing that would fit me. I ended up feeling like our session was ruined because I couldn’t fit into any of my clothes with my postpartum body.

After these experiences, I knew I wanted to make things easier for my clients! Your portrait experience should be stress-free. I want you to feel like you were pampered and taken care of so you can focus on your family on the day of your session. This is why we not only include access to our client’s wardrobe closet but also professional hair and makeup services, either in your home or in our studio.
