MY FILM JOURNEY | FILM WORKSHOP WITH JULIE PAISLEY | ST. LOUIS & DESTINATION WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

AHHHH! YOU GUYS! Film is amazing! When I was in high school and college I was shooting black and white film and I loved it. But when I started my business a couple of years ago, I jumped right into digital, because it just made more sense. Film is so expensive and its difficult to shoot when you don’t have the perfect light. However, while I do love my DSLR, it cannot replace that stunning look that film gives! So, I recently decided to try something new and incorporate film into my sessions and weddings. This will be a slow process, but I know that it will be worth it in the end.

I decided that the first step to incorporating film into my business was to take a workshop with Julie Paisley! Julie is so sweet and I cannot thank her enough for teaching me so much over the past couple of years. Julie along with the incredibly talented owners of Cedarwood in Nashville, TN set up a styled session for us to shoot. The best part was getting to eat those yummy desserts at the end!

I was not ready for the stunning images that came across my screen when I opened up my film scans from Photovision. After the workshop with Julie, I was so inspired to start my journey back into film. I cannot wait to see where the journey will take me!
